It is with deep sadness that we learn of the passing of Councillor Ann Carr. 

Ann was a long-serving and very active town councillor, serving as Mayor of Sedgefield in 2021/22. Ann had a huge heart and worked tirelessly to support a wide range of causes in Sedgefield and beyond, always wanting to help those who were less fortunate. Ann gave her time willingly to all, was wise and approachable. She could light up a room and we will all miss her compassion, humour and sense of community spirit. We are sending condolences to her husband Mel, daughters Louise & Emma, their family and all Ann’s friends.

We will be honouring Ann with a minute silence at the start of our March 2026 Committee meetings.
