Excluding bank holidays, all of our public committee meetings are held on the second Monday of the month in Sedgefield Parish Hall’s Main Hall. Meetings commence at 7pm with the Monthly Meeting, followed by Policy & Resources, Community Development & Engagement and then Environment.
The remaining committee meetings (Sedgefield Extra, Personnel and Community Chest) are held as required around agenda items and members’ availability. Click here for more information about our council structure and committees.
In May, we hold two additional meetings. The Annual Town Meeting is a chance for the public to learn about the council’s work over the previous year and understand the plans for the year ahead. Our Annual General Meeting, which precedes the Monthly Meeting in May, is where councillors are elected to council roles.
Public Participation
Members of the public are warmly welcomed to attend public committee meetings. The agendas for such committee meetings, which can be found here, provide the opportunity for members of the public to participate. Members of the public can observe all discussions except for those matters which are classed as exempt information, at which point they are asked to leave the meeting.
