PUBLIC STATEMENT: Planning Application DM/26/00456/FPA Land to the west of A689 Junction/Stockton Road, Sedgefield

The Town Council have been notified that a hybrid planning application has been submitted compromising of 48 dwellings with vehicle access, landscaping and associated infrastructure, and an additional, separate 2 dwellings with associated infrastructure on land to the west of A689 junction/Stockton Road.

It is important that members of the public have the opportunity to find out more about this planning application and give their views on this proposal.

BANKSHomes will hold a drop in consultation event for members of the public in Sedgefield Parish Hall on Thursday 16th April 2026 2pm-7pm. You do not need to book places in advance and this is your opportunity to speak to the developer directly. Sedgefield Town Council will be holding a public meeting at 5:30pm on Monday 20th April 2026 in Sedgefield Parish Hall’s main hall to provide residents with an opportunity to express their views about this planning application. The Town Council is keen to know the views of residents on this application, and these views will help the Town Council make its response to Durham County Council, the local planning authority.

We must stress it is also important that any residents who have comments on this application, both for and against, must also submit those comments directly to Durham County Council via their online planning portal www.publicaccess.durham.gov.uk/online-applications/ and searching ‘DM/26/00456/FPA’.
