Planning Application DM/25/01625/FPA – proposal to erect 176 dwellings with associated access, infrastructure and landscaping, land East of Beacon Avenue.
UPDATE: DROP-IN INFORMATION SESSION WITH DURHAM COUNTY COUNCIL PLANNING TEAM
Sedgefield Town Council has arranged for Durham County Council to run a drop-in information session in Sedgefield Parish Hall on Monday 14th July 2025 from 3.30pm – 6.30pm in relation to the planning application for large-scale housing at land East of Beacon Avenue, Sedgefield. Durham County Council’s Planning Team will be managing the event, Sedgefield Town Council will simply be providing the venue. Durham County Council’s Planning Team will lay out the plans and have several officers in attendance to objectively discuss details with residents. It’s good news that together, we’ve been able to facilitate this engagement opportunity for residents, and so early in the process. Please spread the word about this event.
The Town Council is also liaising with the applicant’s agent, Lichfields, and is hopeful that the team there will also hold a drop-in information session for residents in the near future. More information will follow.
In the meantime, please note that although there are some key dates listed on the planning portal in relation to this planning application, residents have plenty of time to register their comments. A date for the application to be considered by the Durham County Council Planning Committee has not yet been set, and all representations from residents will be taken into account in the lead up to that meeting, once it is confirmed.
