Sedgefield Town Council are looking to appoint a full-time Head Gardener & Cemetery Superintendent (37 hours per week) to lead our cemeteries, gardening and opens spaces team and work.
Working pattern: 37 hours per week (Mondays to Thursdays 8 hours per day and Fridays 5 hours per day with some occasional weekend work) based at the Town Council’s compound, Butterwick Road Cemetery, Sedgefield.
This is an exciting opportunity for a diverse role where the post holder has supervisory responsibilities, will oversee all cemetery matters (both open and closed cemeteries), open spaces work, planting and season bedding maintenance, working with and overseeing contractors, working with local volunteers and, when necessary, snow clearing/winter maintenance.
This role is paid in accordance with NJC Local Government pay scales Grade 7 £30,024 – £33,699 (with pay awards agreed nationally).
